Heads of Department reminded to remain politically neutral

Heads of Department of the metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies have been urged to be more professional and non-partisan in the performance of their duties.

Mr. David Addai Amankwah, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo-Ano North, demanded that they showed a high level of loyalty to the nation by putting their expertise at the disposal of the assemblies to bring progress to the people.

He was speaking at a day’s forum held for 70 heads of department and other staff of the assembly at Tepa, to help deepen their understanding of the decentralization policy.

It was held under the auspices of the Local Government and Rural Development Ministry.

Mr. Amankwah said it was important for all to accept to work with commitment, dedication and passion to transform the socio-economic conditions of the population.

Mr. Hamzah Inusah, District Coordinating Director, advised the heads to ensure effective supervision of their departments and insist on good work ethics.

He reminded them that they were accountable for the efficient performance of functions and responsibilities assigned to their various departments.
