Asamankese, May 7, GNA – John Ahiale, the 36-year-old proprietor and Headmaster of a Junior High School (JHS), who was arrested at Akwatia whi= le sitting this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), was o= n Friday arraigned before the Asamankese Circuit Court.
He was charged with possession forged documents, but pleaded not guil= ty and was granted GH¢1,000 bail with one surety to re-appear on June 7, 2= 010. Police Inspector D.T. Nartey prosecuting told the court that the complainants were officials of the West African Examination Council (WAEC= ) and the accused was the proprietor of Wawali Preparatory JHS at Akyem Topreman near Akwatia. Ahiale registered as a candidate for this year’s BECE and on April 1= 9 when the Social Studies paper I was underway, complainants saw him in the=
midst of the students taking the examination. They became suspicious and when he was questioned it was realized th= at the accused forged the statement of entries and continuous assessment for= ms, which enabled WAEC to register him as a candidate. He was therefore arrested and charged with the offence after investigations. 7 May 10
