Head teacher sanctioned for misconduct

Mamponteng (Ash), Aug 21, GNA – The Kwabre District Education Directorate has demoted the head teacher of Asenua Junior High School. He collected cash from school children before giving them chairs provided to the school by the district assembly.

Alhaji Akwasi Yeboah, the Kwabre District Chief Executive, who disclosed this in his session address at the second ordinary meeting of the Assembly at Mamponteng on Wednesday, urged the assembly members to keep an eye on the distribution of the chairs to the schools. He said this was very crucial because of the way some head teachers were taking undue advantage and extorting monies from the children before releasing the chairs to the children. He said with the assistance of the GETFund the assembly was manufacturing 4,000 basic school furniture for distribution to schools in the district free-of-charge and it was unfortunate that some teachers were abusing the system. He said so far, 1,500 out of the number have been manufactured.
