Hayatou lives Accra for home

Accra, (Greater Accra) Oct 25, ’98 The President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Mr Issa Hayatou, has expressed his satisfaction with preparations being made by Ghana to host the African Under-20 Youth tournament to be held in February, 1999. “I am very satisfied with the work of the local organising committee, especially the infrastructure, including hotel and telecommunication facilities that have been made available.” Mr Hayatou said this in an interview with newsmen before departure at the Kotoka International Airport after a three-day official visit to the country to supervise the balloting for the tournament.

He said he was also satisfied with the outcome of the balloting which ensured a balance in the groupings. “These developments will ensure a good tournament and I believe participating teams will exhibit good sportsmanship, fairplay and observe the rules of the game.”

He was seen off at the airport by the Chairman of the Ghana Football Association, Alhaji M.N.D. Jawula, and Mr Worlanyo Agra, Secretary-General of the GFA.
