Accra, Feb. 9, GNA- The First Vice Chairperson of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Madam Hawa Yakubu, has received an award from the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria for her contribution to peace and stability in the West African Sub-Region.

The NPP First Vice Chairperson told journalists in Accra on Wednesday that she received a plague, certificate and a citation, at the 12th anniversary celebration of the Institute in Abuja.

The ceremony, which was under the theme: “Reform, Strategy as a Tool for Sustainable Economic and Industrial Development”, recognized her efforts at promoting good governance, through her association with the ECOWAS Parliament and various non-governmental organisations.

Madam Yakubu said the citation also acknowledged her contributions towards the upliftment of women and children, as well as ensuring that the under-privileged in society, were given the necessary attention. She urged women to engage in various income-generating activities so that they could be able to support themselves and their families in general.
