Kumasi,(Ashanti Region) 12 Oct., ’98 The Asante-Mampong Police is searching for Kwaku Owusu, a farmer, for allegedly dealing in illegal drugs.

The wife, Afua Anokyewaa, also a farmer, who was arrested when the police task force searched their house, is on police enquiry bail.

Briefing GRi in Kumasi, Inspector Augustine Arthur of the Ashanti Region Police Public Relations Directorate, said on October 10, Inspector Aduhene Banieh, in charge of the Mampong division police task force, had a tip-off that Anokyewaa and her husband were dealing in indian hemp.

He said on the same day at about 13:30 hours the task force proceeded to the house of the couple but met only Anokyewaa A search of their room, revealed 63 wrappers and a quantity of seeds suspected to be indian hemp were found.

Inspector Arthur said Anokyewaa claimed that the stuff belonged to her husband. GRi
