A serious car crash occurred at the Ashaiman Overhead on Friday 24th October, 2025, leaving one person injured.

The accident involved a Toyota V8, registered as GN 76-16, and a commercial vehicle with registration number GS 3642-12.

According to eyewitnesses, an ambulance carrying a deceased person was speeding through heavy traffic with a police escort when the incident happened. The Toyota V8, also reportedly speeding, collided with the commercial vehicle and veered into a gutter.

The commercial vehicle’s driver, Frank Amoah, claimed he had stopped to let the ambulance pass when the Toyota V8 hit his car, injuring his mate who was rushed to the hospital.

However, the Toyota V8 driver alleged that a police escort rider struck his vehicle while trying to clear the way for the ambulance, causing him to swerve and crash into the commercial vehicle.

The Toyota V8 is owned by Hassan Ayariga, founder of the All People’s Congress. Ayariga stated he was on his way to a program when informed of the accident and described the news as shocking and distressing.

The vehicles have been towed, and the Toyota V8 driver is receiving medical attention. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
