Haruna Iddrisu is ‘Judas’ in NDC – Dep. Minister alleges

Deputy Minister for Women and Children Affairs, Hajia Gariba Boya, has labeled the Minister for Communications, Haruna Iddrisu, a traitor in the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The Deputy Minister, who was allegedly attacked by a leading NDC member in the Northern Region on Sunday when she went to the salon to fix her hair in preparation for the arrival of President John Mahama, accused the Communications Minister of working clandestinely to scuttle President Mahama’s reign simply because he (Haruna) harbours presidential ambition.

“Haruna has a selfish ambition to become President and so he pokes his nose everywhere…He wants President Mahama’s downfall,” she claimed.

Hajia Boya was allegedly physically assaulted by the Tamale South Constituency NDC Women’s Organiser, Madam Rahinatu Abdul Rahaman aka Imma Kande, who pushed her (Boya) down and tore her clothes.

Narrating the incident in an interview with Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” Morning Show, Hajia Boya accused the Minister for Communications of masterminding the attack on her.

“Haruna Iddrisu is behind the attack and i don’t know why…he organizes people to beat others up when he doesn’t agree with them…He mobilized the people to come and attack me and I know all of them, they are his boys and he was there himself. He was there…The woman just came to the salon, held my dress and tore it and I didn’t have a security man with me. But one of the boys I was moving with held the woman and pushed her so she hit her face on the ground,” She said.

When the Communications Minister was contacted, he stridently denied all the accusations levelled against him describing them as false and unfounded.

Haruna Iddrisu, who demanded an unqualified apology from the Deputy Minister for making such spurious allegations against him said it was just an attack on his personality.

“It is an attempt to assassinate my character and drag my name to disrepute,” he said.
