Haruna Iddrisu Demands Apology…

Minister for Communications, Haruna Iddrisu, wants an immediate apology from Deputy Minister for Women and Children Affairs, Hajia Gariba Boya for accusing him of clandestinely working to ruin President John Dramani Mahama’s leadership simply because he (Haruna) harbours an ambition to be president.

The Communications Minister also wants the Inspector General of Police, Paul Tawiah Quaye to investigate allegations that he (Haruna) masterminded an unprovoked attack on the deputy minister.

Hajia Boya was allegedly assaulted on Sunday by the Tamale South Constituency NDC Women’s Organiser, Madam Rahinatu Abdul Rahaman aka Imma Kande, who pushed her (Boya) down and tore her clothes apart when she (Boya) went to the salon to fix her hair in preparation for the arrival of President John Mahama.

The Deputy Minister, who strongly believes that Mr Iddrisu was behind the attack, slammed him for being a traitor in the NDC.

But speaking in an interview on Peace FM’s morning show ‘Kokrokoo’ with host Kwami Sefa Kayi, the Communication Minister stridently denied all the accusations levelled against him describing them as false and unfounded.

Haruna Iddrisu, who demanded an unqualified apology from the Deputy Minister for making such spurious allegations against him also called on the Inspector General of Police, Paul Tawiah Quaye to investigate the allegations.

“This wicked and malicious lies by Hajia Boya will not stand. I want the IGP to constitute an investigation into this matter and to make the findings of their investigations public…my character, reputation, personality will not be assaulted and mangled as is being done by Boya. God is my witness…our true characters will be known. In trying to drag my good name into disrepute, I take strong exceptions to that and she must retract and offer an unqualified apology to me. It’s taken me years to build my reputation. To authorize a woman to be beaten; to achieve what?” he quizzed.
