Hard working area councils to get more funds for development

Assin -Nsuta (C/R), Sept. 16, GNA – Fifty per cent of revenue generated within the jurisdiction of all town or area councils in the country will be allocated to them for development projects. The presiding member of the Assin District Assembly, Mr. Anthony Arthur, said this on Monday when he inaugurated the local area council at Assin-Nsuta.

He said the Local Government Act 462 authorises the payment of the percentage and appealed to the various councils to strive hard to collect more revenue in order to get more money for development.

Mr Arthur urged the 19-member council to meet people in their communities to solicit their views on issues pertaining to their welfare before taking any decisions on their behalf. 16 Sept. 03
