Happy FM’s Mother’s Day cooking competition

Ghana’s number one sports station, Happy 98.9FM, honoured mothers in a unique way at the Rawlings Park in Accra on Sunday at a special ceremony dubbed ‘Mother’s Day Cooking Contest’.

Being the first of its kind, Happy FM saw the need to provide a rare opportunity for children to express their love to their mothers through the art of cooking. It was also an occasion to unite families by way of spending precious time together.

In all, 10 participants prepared various dishes for their mothers with other family members present to lend their support for the ultimate prize. Some of the delicacies prepared on the day were:

‘Kokonte and Keta School Boys’, fufu and groundnut soup, special braise rice, omo tuo and groundnut soup, jollof rice and grilled fish, noodles, etc.

The mothers and other family members had a great time eating, drinking and catching up on good old days.

The ultimate winner of the event went home with a microwave, cooler set, and huge hampers from Market Direct, Leap Tomato Paste and Promasidor.

The second and third winners also won other home appliances and hampers.

All participants went home full of joy with gifts from Market Direct, Promasidor, Leap Tomato Paste and others.
