Happy FM walks for Health

Accra, Feb. 21, GNA – Happy FM, an Accra-based Radio Station is organizing a walk on Independence Day, Sunday, March 6 in their quest to promote healthy lifestyle.

The event aimed at promoting good health among Ghanaians is dubbed the =91Lakeside Marina / Happy Sports 5 km Run’.

The Walk, a collaboration between Lakeside Estate and Happy FM is to bring people together to engage in a healthy competition and promote a healthy lifestyle whilst having fun.

Charles Osei Assibey, an ace Sports Journalist with Happy FM told GNA Sports that the event to be held at Lakeside Marina Park in Ashaley Botwe “is symbolic not only for celebrating Ghana’s independence, but also fo= r promoting independence from unhealthy related issues through regular exercises and healthy lifestyles.

“Hopefully it will drum home the long-term benefits of developing a healthy lifestyle, appreciating the health benefits of exercise and sports, and ultimately celebrate life and good health among Ghanaians.”

He said awards will be given to the Fastest Man/Women, the Fastest Men/ Women above 50 years, the Fastest Male CEO / MD, and the Fastest Corporate Team.

Registration for the run is 15 GHC, which includes a free T-shirt. Proceeds will be used to support the Mercy Social Centre, an orphanage at Ashaley Botwe.

Meanwhile registration is ongoing at the Lakeside Marina Park in Ashaley Botwe, Happy FM at Asylum Down, Silver Star Tower at the Airport City, Silverbird Lifestyle Store in the Accra Mall, Pippas Health Centre at Ringway and East Legon and Koala Shopping Centre in Osu.
