Happy Birthday, Mr. President

Your Excellency, President Mills, tomorrow, July 21, 2012 marks your 68th birthday. The Publisher, Editor and entire staff of the Daily Post as well as all well meaning Ghanaians wish you a Happy Birthday; may the rest of your years which the Good Lord will give you, and which we pray will be many, be filled with joy, peace and good health!

As the General elections slated for this December approaches, we have no doubt that thanks to your outstanding leadership, the good people of this country will renew your mandate and give you a second four year term. Being human, we never expected your leadership to be flawless. But, by jove, you have done what Napoleon could not do!

Your rise to the office of the President of Ghana is a lesson that it is not those who seek political power for its sake that God exalts to the office of the President of Ghana. Rather, it is those who have the desire to help lift the living standard of the ordinary Ghanaian.

We humbly hasten to add that you dare not fail to win the elections in December because millions of Ghanaians do not want a leadership that will plunge Ghana into the abyss of illicit drugs, money laundering and contract killings. We desire a leadership that guarantees us peace and stability; that which earns us respect in the international arena. So, Mr. President, you owe it to all the good people of this country to chalk a landslide victory come this December. You do your bit; God will do the rest.

Finally, Mr. President, in all things, remember God’s charge to the faithful as recorded in Joshua 1:9 –“Have I not commanded you? Be strong, and of a good courage; Be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go”

Happy Birthday In Advance!
