Hanna Tetteh’s marital status none of my business – Andah

The New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary candidate for Awutu Senya West, Mr George Andah has said the marital status of his main contender, Ms Hanna Tetteh of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) is “none of my business”.

After receiving backlash on social media for daring the Foreign Affairs Minister to show her husband to Ghanaians in like manner as he showcased his wife at a mini-rally in Bawjiase recently, Mr Andah, in a video posted on Facebook retorted that: “I didn’t say she has a husband or she didn’t have a husband. I showed my wife. There are issues going round that I am irresponsible. And what I said was that I come to the constituency with my wife; I come to the constituency with my children. … I think the misunderstanding is that people feel that I said Hanna Tetteh is not married.”

“I do not know whether Hanna Tetteh is married or not, but it is none of my business. All I said is: ‘this is my wife, where is your husband,’” he said.

He argued that: “If I bring Nana Addo to Bawjiase and I ask you to bring John Mahama to Bawjiase, will that be something you should say I should apologise for?”

Mr Andah is seeking to unseat Ms Tetteh who has won the seat twice and seeking a third victory.
