Hajia Alima commissions projects in Northern Region

Nalerigu (N/R), July 16, GNA – The Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry and Presidential Initiatives, Hajia Alima Mahama has commissioned two projects estimated at 130 million cedis in the Mamprusi East District of the Northern Region.

Hajia Alima said the commissioning of an 80 million cedi streetlights project and a 10-seater KVIP estimated at 50 million cedis was in fulfilment of the government’s promise to provide such facilities to improve their living conditions.

She advised the youth of area to desist from acts that would impede the development of the area.

Hajia Alima also presented 12,000 exercise books valued at 1.4 million cedis to primary schools at Gambaga and Nalerigu. Presenting the books, Hajia Alima noted that the three Northern regions were rated as high poverty area adding that in order to break the cycle of the phenomenon parents ought to give high premium to the education of their children, especially girls.

She advised the pupils to be respectful to their parents and teachers and urged them to take their studies seriously and abstain from pre-marital sex to avoid contracting the HIV/AIDS disease.
