Hairdresser granted 50 million cedis bail for stealing.

Tema, Feb 03, GNA – A 25-year-old hairdresser at Tema Community 11 who took advantage of the absence of her boyfriend and stole items as well as 1.9 million cedis cash has been granted 50 million cedis bail with a surety by the Tema circuit court ‘A’.

Rebecca Twumwaah Yirenkyi Boateng pleaded guilty and will reappear on February 28, 2005.

Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Matilda Tetteh told the court that on December 25, 2004, the complainant who is a car dealer, travelled to his hometown in Brong Ahafo to spend the Christmas and left the house keys with the accused. When the complainant returned on December 28 he detected the theft of a set of computer, a Sonny tape with CD, pairs of shoes, clothing and 1.9 million cedis.

He reported the theft to the police and the accused was arrested.
