Hairdresser Arrested With Suspected Cocaine

A 36-year-old Ghanaian hairdresser was arrested Sunday night at the Kotoka International Airport, Accra, with substances believed to be cocaine concealed in her brassier and shoes.

Grace Addo, who was holding a Canadian passport issued in 1999 in New York, was arrested by the Civil Aviation Security.

John Amoah, Director of the Aviation Security, told newsmen Monday that Addo was about to board a Lufthansa flight to Frankfurt via Lagos when the substance weighing about 1.6 kilos was found on her.

A further search revealed more of the substance stashed in her shoes, while 1,300 US dollars was also found in her bag.

Amoah said during interrogation, Addo said the substance was given to her by a friend for delivery to another friend in Germany.
