Ashanti Regional Police Commander, Ken Yeboah has been explaining reasons behind the seizure of vehicles belonging to founder and leader of United Freedom Party, Nana Agyenim Boateng.
According to DCOP Ken Yeboah, the said vehicles were found abandoned in a bush which compelled the police to tow them away based on suspicion.
The Regional Police Chief was responding to a law suit filed by the UFP leader regarding seizure of his two vehicles.
Founder and National Chairman of the United Front Party (UFP), Nana Agyenim Boateng, filed a suit at a Kumasi High Court against the Ghana Police Service and the Invisible Forces of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for “illegal seizure” of his vehicles.
The Invincible Forces reportedly stormed the residence of Nana Boateng, fondly called ‘Gyataba’, at Barekese in his absence and forcibly towed his two pickups with registration numbers GM 1842-16 and GM 1413-16 away.
The group alleged on radio that the cars belonged to the National Security and that they were working to safeguard national property.
But Gyataba said he had documents to prove that he legally acquired the vehicles from the manufacturers.
