Mr.. S.O. Lamptey, Acting Chief of Personnel, Ghana Water and Sewerage corporation, has assured workers of the corporation that their interest will not be sacrificed under the alter of privatization. He was speaking at an award ceremony for workers of the corporation in the Volta Region at Ho at the weekend. Mr.. Michael Ahli, 64, with 29 years’ working experience, received the best worker award of a 14-inch colour television for “Solely manning the corporation’s station at Anfoega in the Kpando District”. Ten other workers received prizes such as stereo cassette recorders, standing fans and wall clocks. Mr.. Arnold K. Adjei, a driver, was honoured posthumously for his dedication to duty. Mr.. He said workers must prove to stakeholders that they can live up to the challenges of privatization. Mr.. S.T. Amengor, Regional Director, asked each worker to regard himself as an important link in a chain to ensure efficient and smooth service delivery.
