GTV Goes Into Partnership With ABN

Television viewers in Ghana will be privileged to watch some new series to be showcased by African Broadcast Network on Ghana Television(GTV}. The series are among new programmes being introduced by the African Broadcast Network, a pan-African television network that has been designed to re-generate the African broadcasting industry.

The African Broadcasting network is in partnership with other African Television stations. These include. Zimbabwe Broadcast Corporation, Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation, Kenya Broadcasting Corporation and the African Independent Television Network of Nigeria. Launching the Programme, Mr. Emmanuel Addo, Chief Executive of AD media, a public relation and advertising company said the programmes will offer services that are needed by an African – based marketer who wishes to advertise within the pan continental spectrum. In his view, this will bring quality in local production.

The Director General of GBC Mr. Seth Adjetey, was very happy that his outfit is hosting such a big network. According to him the joint venture will bring about globalization of the African Broadcasting Stations through the ABN machinery. The various Broadcasting houses which are in partnership with ABN will have the opportunity to exchange programmes among themselves and thus offer to its audience different local programmes from other parts of the continent.

Starting from this week, ABN in conjunction with GBC will start flighting an hour broadcast during prime viewing hours. The one hour programme will increase to two hours a day by the end of year one and to three hours, a day, by the end of year two. As an international station, ABN will also offer marketers accessibility, reliable and profiles on a country, regional or pan-African basis.
