GT donates to West African College of Physicians

Accra, April 2, GNA – Ghana Telecom (GT) Company Limited has presented a cheque for 3,500 Ghana Cedis to the West African College of Physicians (WACP) Ghana Chapter to facilitate its activities and boost its role as the largest specialised agency of the West African Health Community (WAHC).

Presenting the cheque to Dr. Audrey Forson, Honorary Treasurer of the College, Mr. Isaac Abraham, Chief Manager/Corporate Communications, said it was GT’s aim to help individuals and health care institutions to eliminate inequalities and diseases from society. Dr. Forson expressed the College’s appreciation for the donation. Membership of the WAHC is from Ghana, The Gambia, Liberia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone.

The College promotes professional training of physicians in West Africa and helps raise standards of professional practice, ethics and morals of physicians in West Africa.

It also determines persons to be designated as specialist physicians after due consideration of their training, qualifications and experience, while assisting the West African Postgraduate Medical College in the formulation of policies on Postgraduate Medical Education in West Africa.
