GRTCC increases transport fares

Accra, Nov. 20, GNA – The Ghana Road Transport Coordinating Council (GRTCC) has approved new road transport fares with effect from Tuesday, November 20 2007.

This was contained in a statement signed by Mr Alando A. Sidik, Member, GRTCC and Nana Danso Atekoasa Agyemang, First Vice Chairman, GRTCC on Tuesday.

The statement said fares for Inter-City (long distance) had gone up from GP 80 to GP 88; GP 85 to GP 94; GH=A21.60 to GH=A2 1.76 and GH=A24.40 to GH=A2 4.84.

For trotro, the previous fare of GP 10 would now be GP 11; GP 20 is now GP 22, while GP40 is now GP44.

The fares for taxicabs is now GP40 for one kilometre or part thereof.

The statement directed all members to provide the fare adjustments list at the various loading stations for the general public.
