Group says Ade Coker is not corrupt

Youth organizers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 34 constituencies of the Greater Accra Region on Thursday stated that Mr Kobina Ade Coker, Regional Chairman, was not involved in any corrupt practices in the region.

They described his accusers as a “non-existent group that might have been put up by members of the opposition to disrupt the progress of Mr Ade-Coker in the forthcoming party election on Saturday.”

Mr Wisdom Foli, secretary to the 34 constituency youth organizers who read a statement at a press conference in Accra, said “as a Regional Chairman of our great party, Mr Ade-Coker has never diverted any funds during his tenure of office.”

A group called “Concerned Youth of Greater Accra” among other issues on Wednesday accused the NDC Regional chairman of diverting NDC party funds and refusal to attend youth and party meetings.

According to Mr Foli, Mr Coker had supported the party in cash and kind to blossom.

“Mr Coker has been able to support the party, especially providing computers to all constituency secretaries in the region to facilitate their mobilization and secretariat activities, and we are all surprised at the group’s allegations,” Mr Foli added.

He called for unity among all NDC members as they go for their regional congress on Saturday and eschew bickering and petty quarrels that could undermine their integrity.

Mr Foli added:” I want to on behalf of my colleagues here state that the allegations are baseless, lack merit and aimed at tarnishing the hard own reputation of our regional chairman.”

He said 2016 was just around the corner and appealed to all members of the NDC to channel their strengths and energies towards the building of party structures rather than vilifying their leaders.
