Group lobbies for Liz Sackey as Accra Mayor

The GaDangme Concerned Youth Group has called on President-elect Nana Akufo-Addo to appoint three-time Member of Parliament (MP) for Okaikoi North, Elizabeth Naa Kwatsoe Sackey, as the substantive Chief Executive of the Accra Metropolitan Area.

“She began as an assembly member in the Akweteyman Electoral Area for two times, she is very competent, resilient, and cuts across all factions,” the president of the group, Nii Ayaafio Tetteh I, said in a news release.

Mr Tetteh stressed that it was the group’s belief she could drive development in the capital but added the group would not hesitate to call for her removal in the event that she failed to deliver as expected should she be appointed.

He emphasised that even though the group was not politically affiliated, the development of the capital, which is inhabited by GaDangmes, was key hence they will do everything to ensure its growth.
