Group donates to flood victims of Akyem Kotoku

Akyem Oda (E/R), Sept. 13, GNA – The Akyem Kotoku Association in the United Kingdom on Tuesday donated GH¢2,200 to victims of the recent flood disaster in the Birim Central Municipality.

Okyeame Beyeeden VIII, who is a founding member of the association, said they felt uneasy when news reached them about the flood disaster.

He expressed the hope that the donation would be used judiciously so that others would be encouraged to donate some more to ease the suffering of the victims.

“We will do our best to offer help to those affected, let us know when you are in need and we will surely come to your aid,” he said.

Okyeame Beyeeden VIII said he was unhappy with the poor state of the Akyem Oda Government Hospital and called on government to urgently rehabilitate the facility.

Ms Ophelia Koomson, the Municipal Chief Executive for Birim Central, thanked the delegation for the donation and urged them to encourage other colleagues abroad to also come to the aid of the victims and also assist in rehabilitating the hospital.
