Group donates $ 4000 for Mampong Maternity ward renovation

Shalom Outreach Incorporated, a non-Christian charitable group, based in the United States, at the weekend donated $ 4000 for renovation works at the Asante Kampong Maternity Delivery ward in Mampong in the Ashanti Region.

Reverend Ernest Odame Asare, Sekyere Presbytery Chairman said in May 23,2014, the group led by Pastor Julian Dangerfield and Rev Dr Yaw Frimpong, the immediate past Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana General Assembly, paid a visit to the ward and witnessed the deplorable condition at the place hence the donation.

He said $ 3500 of the amount was donated by the group and the remaining $500 from Rev Frimpong and wife whose first born child now in the British Army, was delivered at the ward.

Rev Odame Asare charged the hospital authorities to take the necessary steps to use the money for the purpose of which it was donated.

Dr Kwadwo Nyarko –Jectey, Medical Superintendent at the hospital thanked the donors and the Presbyterian Church for the kind gesture and gave the assurance that the hospital administration would involve the church in the planning and execution of the renovation works.
