Kumasi, Jan. 27, GNA – The Executives Committee of the Friends of Dr Mustapha Ahmed, a political pressure group of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has congratulated Professor J.E.A. Mills and Mr John Mahama on their election to the high office President and Vice President, respectively.
The group also commended Ghanaians for the maturity they exhibited during the elections and urged the citizenry to strive to consolidate the peace the nation was enjoying.
This was contained in a statement jointly signed and issued in Kumasi at the weekend by Mr Kwasi Prempeh; Jeffrey Nsiah and Emmanuel Dumfour, Chairman; Vice-Chairman and Secretary, in that order. It appealed to stakeholders to be supportive of the new government in the implementation of its development agenda for the progress of the nation.
The group, whiles congratulating Dr Mustapha Ahmed, Member of Parliament (MP) for Ayawaso East in the Greater Accra Region for retaining his seat, urged him to work extra hard in transforming the lives of the constituents for the better. The statement expressed the hope that President Mills would consider the hard working MP for ministerial position to help him to bring his expertise, knowledge and academic experience to bear on the nation’s development. 27 Jan. 09
