Group accuses Lower Denkyira DCE of Ghc170k fraud

A group calling itself ‘Citizens Against Corruption And Indiscipline’ has accused the Heman Lower Denkyira District Chief Executive of defrauding traders of Ghc170,800 and therefore demands his resignation.

The group, in a statement issued on Tuesday February 11, 2014, signed by Executive Director, Mark Omane-Acheampong, said the President must fire Mr Bossman Osei-Hyiaman if he fails to resign.

According the statement, the group will not ‘allow such public officers to tarnish the image of any government that gets the nod to govern this Country’.

The group said its clamour for the DCE’s dismissal follows a publication by The National Falcon which first exposed the alleged fraud.

‘According to the report in the paper, over one thousand traders at Twifo Praso were victims of the DCE’s “fraudulent” act’.

‘This is unacceptable and must be treated with all the seriousness it deserves’, the group said.

It has given the DCE a three-day ultimatum to account for the money and resign or face the wrath of its members.

‘If he fails, we will go through all legal means to seek for justice’.

The DCE however denied on Radio XYZ’s Strict Proof that he duped the market women. He said the money collected from the women were used to fix the market and prop it up to a better standard.

He challenged the group to subject him to a forensic audit if it has any evidence of fraud against him.
