Accra, May 11, GNA – The Ghana Registered Nurses Association (GRNA) on Monday called upon nurses and midwives to be humane in their commitment to provide service to their clients without discrimination. The GNRA made the call in a statement in commemoration of the International Nurses’ Day Celebration, which falls May 12. The day being marked under the theme: “Nurses Leading Care Innovations”, was also to celebrate the 175th birthday of Florence Nightingale, founder of modern nursing. “We also call on the employer and government to maintain good relationship with nurses and midwives in recognition of services rendered and provide us with the conducive environment that will enhance our professional work,” it said.
It said nursing innovation is a fundamental source of progress for health care system in the world, adding that they are positioned to provide creative and innovative solutions to make a difference in the day-to-day lives of their patients, organization, communities and their profession. It called on the public to take good care of their health through the adoption of healthy lifestyles to attain sustainable health for productivity.
