Gregory Afoko denied bail

Gregory Afoko, the brother of suspended National Patriotic Court (NPP) Paul Afoko, has been denied bail after a hearing at a High Court today.

Gregory’s counsel had earlier applied for a bail after the last court hearing on the basis that the accusations were based on hear-say and there were no substantial evidences.

The prosecution, however, opposed the application and argued that if the accused person is granted bail, he would not be available for the trial.

According to the court, presided over by Justice LL Mensah, the accused has been refused bail in the interest of the public and the accused as well.

Gregory Afoko was accused of conspiracy to murder and murder of the late Mr. Adams Mahama, former NPP Chairman.

The case was adjourned to July 12 for the commencement of the trial. Gregory Afoko denied bail
