Greater Swedru Cultural Association of Canada,Toronto

Yhe Greater Swedru Cultural Association of Canada, based in Toronto, last Sunday 20th June 2004 elected new executives to steer the affairs of the association for a 2 year term according to its constitution. The Old executives led by Mr. Kwesi Eduful really did a yeoman job of putting the association on a sound footing both financially and meeting attendance.

The association has already adopted a ward in the Agona Swedru Hospital and are now in the process of sending bedsheets and other items to the adopted ward and the hospital in general. Not quite long ago, Mr. Solomon Ghansah secretary of the outgoing executives saw on the the Ghanaweb that a patient at the Breman Asikuma Hospital cannot afford to pay his medical bills so he was appealing for help. He brought the matter before the executives and they went to rescue of the patient by instructing the treasurer , Mr. Yaw Opare who happened to be in Ghana at that time to go pay the medical bill for that patient which your esteemed website profiled it.

The incoming executives are as follows: Mr. James Blankson, Vice-President, Mr. Kofi Forson, Financial Secretary, Mr Godfried Koomson, Treasurer, Mrs Gertrude Obeng-Lagbeneku, Secretary, Mrs Joyce Coleman,and Organizing Secretary Mr. Seth Kofi Quainoo..

The executive elect are to take over after the outgoing executives have met the Audit committee of the association next month. the incoming President Mr. Blankson has promised to continue and improve upon what the old executives did.Thanks to the old executives for a job well done and welcome to the executive elect.
