Greater Accra Regional Minister assists La to celebrate festival

Accra, Sept. 23, GNA – Nii Armah Ashitey, Greater Accra Regional Minister, on Friday presented GH¢2,000 cash and assorted drinks to La Traditional Council towards the celebration of La Homowo Festival this year.

The drinks included five crates of soft drinks, five cartons of beer and five bottles of Gin.

The chiefs and people of La have for the past 15 years not celebrated the festival due to chieftaincy disputes.

Nii Ashietey presenting the items expressed appreciation that peace had now prevailed for the celebration of the festival.

He explained that through some intervention of individuals and chiefs the chieftaincy dispute was resolved and the chiefs and people were prepared to celebrate the festival that would open the way for development.

Nii Kpobi Tete Tsuru III, La Mantse, expressed appreciation for the gesture and called for unity among the people.

He commended government for renovating the Ga Traditional Council at Dodowa and hoped it would be well utilised.
