Greater Accra Regional Hospital (Ridge) to be commissioned today

The Greater Accra Regional Hospital, formerly Ridge Hospital will today Wednesday May 17 be officially commissioned by the Minister of Health and the French Ambassador.

The Hospital rehabilitated and upgraded to a regional health facility was powered by the Government of Ghana with support from Exim Bank and the HSBC Bank.

Ex President John Mahama commissioned the first phase of the facility on November 30, 2016.

The 420 bed facility has been retooled with ultra-modern facilities to boost quality health services in the capital.

The new regional hospital, is well positioned to deliver quality healthcare to the people of Nima, Maamobi and Accra Central which has the highest population densities in the Greater Accra Region and which fall within the catchment area of the health facility.

Surveys conducted at the hospital indicate that about 1 out of the total day output of the hospital are residents from these localities which are relatively deprived communities in the Accra metropolis.

The location of the hospital therefore provides for excellent accessibility to the public and will now provide tremendous healthcare to the population.
