An official statement issued and signed by Ms. Honesty Numetu, Health Promotion Specialist advised the public to cultivate the habit of washing their hands with soap under running water before eating; preparing food and after visiting the toilet.

“Eat cooked food whilst hot; drink safe water – water that is boiled or chlorinated; use proper toilet facilities, and keep your environment clean,” the statement added.

It said in case of diarrhoea and vomiting, the public should start taking ORS or coconut water and report immediately to the nearest health facility.
