Greater Accra gets 25 new administrative officers

Accra, Dec. 19, GNA – The Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) has recruited 25 new administrative officers to be posted to the 10 metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies in the Region. They were among 150 graduates who were selected from 2,000 people who took part in an entrance exam organised by the Civil Service last year to employ fresh personnel for the district assemblies.

Mr Fats T. Nartey, Chief Director, Greater Accra Regional Co-ordinating Council, speaking at the swearing-in of the new officers said the second batch of the recruits, who are made up of other professions such as doctors and engineers would be posted later. He said new administrative officers who were mainly graduates had undergone a 10-day induction course on the Local Government System, code of conduct of the Civil Service as well as disciplinary procedures. Mr Nartey said the officers were also taken through development planning procedures, procurement tender committee review boards and government accounts and coding system. He advised the officers to work diligently in their new posts to enhance the overall development of their assembly.
