Nsawam(ER), Sept. 25, GNA – Joseph Quao 38, Treasurer of Nsawam-Accra-Tema branch of the GPRTU was on Tuesday found hanging dead at his kitchen at Atsikope, a suburb of Nsawam.
Nsawam District Police Commander, Superintendent Daniel Asare Nyanpong, briefing Ghana News Agency, confirmed the incident and said the corpse had been deposited at Nsawam Government Hospital morgue for post mortem examination while investigations continued. Mr Prince Offei, Chairman of the branch said Quao had served the branch for four years and was supposed to hold congress next week to elect new officers and Quao was likely to maintain his position and therefore, did not understand why he decided to take his life. Quao was survived by a wife and three children.
