GPRTU reaffirms commitment to accelerated economic growth

Accra, April 19, GNA- The Ghana Private Road and Transport Union (GPRTU) of the Trades Union Congress, has reaffirmed the commitment of members towards the acceleration of national economic growth. Nana Fred Manu, National Chairman of the GPRTU, told the Ghana News Agency in an interview that the union was ensuring that members maintained their vehicles regularly to play its role of transporting the bulk of Ghanaian workers efficiently.

“One thing we should do is to ensure that we run our vehicles efficiently through regular maintenance to avoid constant breakdowns,” he said.

Nana Manu said it was on the shoulders the GPRTU that the wheel of the economy revolves, hence the need for drivers to do their work well. Touching on the promotion of tourism, he said the union would consult the Ministry of Tourism for road maps to enable drivers transporting tourists to locate their destinations with ease.
