GPL: Nations FC Sweep Monthly Awards Ahead of Showdown with Samartex

Nations Football Club have firmly cemented their status as title contenders in the Ghana Premier League after dominating the April awards, just a day before their high-stakes clash with reigning champions FC Samartex 1996.

The league leaders, currently enjoying a red-hot run of form, scooped three major honours: Goalkeeper of the Month, Coach of the Month, and Goal of the Month. The accolades come on the heels of an impressive April campaign that saw them win four out of five matches while conceding just one goal.

Goalkeeper Rabin Ousmane Sanon earned plaudits for his rock-solid presence between the sticks, keeping four clean sheets and conceding only once, an effort that deservedly won him the Goalkeeper of the Month title.

Head coach Kassim Ocansey Mingle was also recognised for masterminding the team’s unbeaten streak, claiming the Coach of the Month award. Under his leadership, Nations FC have not only risen to the top of the table but have done so with a commanding defensive record and fluid attacking play.

Team captain Razak Simpson added to the club’s trophy cabinet with the Goal of the Month honour. His stunning long-range effort in a victory over Accra Hearts of Oak captured the imagination of fans and critics alike.

With momentum on their side, Nations FC now face their toughest test yet as they go head-to-head with FC Samartex 1996 on Sunday, 25 May at 15:00 GMT, a match that could prove decisive in the title race.

Fans are hopeful the team’s recent form and growing confidence will carry them through what promises to be a thrilling encounter.
