Asante Kotoko produced an emphatic attacking display to defeat Karela United 4-2 in a pulsating Ghana Premier League encounter at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The Porcupine Warriors wasted no time asserting their dominance, with winger Hubert Gyau opening the scoring just six minutes in, calmly finishing a well-worked move. Karela briefly drew level in the 17th minute, but Gyau struck again moments later with a thunderous effort to restore Kotoko’s lead.
Kotoko continued to push forward, and Seth Kwadwo made it 3-1 before half-time with a superbly timed header, sending the home fans into raptures.
After the break, Peter Amidu Acquah added a fourth with a fine finish to put the game beyond reach, though Karela managed to grab a consolation goal late in the second half.
The result marks an important win for Kotoko, who showed both flair and resilience to secure all three points in front of their passionate Kumasi faithful.
Gyau’s brace was the highlight of a commanding team performance that will boost the Porcupine Warriors’ confidence as they continue their push up the league table.
