GPHA organizes drill on bomb threat

Takoradi, Oct. 8, GNA – The Ghana Ports and Harbors Authority (GPHA) on Friday organized a two-hour drill on bomb threat at the Takoradi Harbour.

Personnel from the GPHA, the Western Naval Command, Second Battalion of Infantry and the Ghana Police and Immigration Services participated in the exercise.

Speaking to the GNA after the simulation exercise Captain Frederick Adjaben, the Harbor Master, said the drill was to test the preparedness of the GPHA to deal with bomb threats. He said the drill was successful and brought out the need to tighten security at sensitive areas of the harbor. Captain Adjaben said the GPHA had an Emergency Response Team in place to see to eventualities at the harbor.
