GPHA donates fire-fighting equipment to Tema Police

Tema, July 11, GNA – The Management of the Ghana Ports and Harbour Authority (GPHA), has donated fifteen million cedis worth of fire-fighting equipment to the Tema Regional Police. The items included six fire extinguishers with hoses, ten crash helmets, ten pairs of boots, two boxes of disposable gloves and 100 pieces of hand gloves and six buckets.

Donating the items on behalf of management, Mr Oscar Cudjoe, Public Affairs Manager of GPHA said the items, which were donated upon the request of the police would replenish the effort of the police in fighting fire, when the need arose. He said even though GPHA had its fire fighters, they deemed it wise to donate the items to prevent any damages, should there be a fire out break in the service.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Jonathan Yakubu, Tema Regional Commander, who received the items on behalf of the Police Service, thanked GPHA for the gesture, stating that, the gloves would go a long way to help the police handle dead bodies.
