Govt urged to rehabilitate Adoagyiri-Kraboa-Coaltar-Oworam Road

Accra, Aug. 10, GNA – The Kraboa-Coaltar Area Council of Chiefs has appealed to the Government to rehabilitate and tar the Adoagyiri-Kraboa-Coaltar-Oworam Road.

In a letter addressed to the Minister of Road Transport they said the area had over 60 towns and many villages and hamlets, which produced all types of farm produce.

They said the only lorry road that ran through the area from Adoagyiri to the Suhum-Asamankese trunk road at Oworam had for a long time been in a bad state due to its neglect by past governments.

“The result is that it is counted among the very bad roads in the country, thus making our area backward in terms of developments,” they noted.

Barima Kwasi Wusu II, President, Nana Akyea Manya II, Chairman, and Mr Emmanuel Owusu, Secretary of the Council signed the letter. They said they had petitioned the Government to repair and tar the road but although their appeals always received promises, they had never been honoured.

They said since they had confidence in the present administration they were sure that their petition would receive the needed attention.
