Gov’t urged to provide tools for quality education

The New Juaben Municipal branch of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) have commemorated World Teachers Day with a call on government to put in place the needed tools for the promotion of quality education.

Speaking at the occasion, the First Trustee of GNAT, Ms Abena Gyamera said, the quality of teachers is the cornerstone of education and also determines the quality of students produced .

She said well trained and motivated teachers can make a difference in quality education delivery.

Ms Gyamera urged parents to provide their wards with the basic needs, such as pencils, pens and food before going to school.

Mr Augustine Adjetey Sowah, the New Juabeng Municipal Director of Education said, good education during the first three years of a child, plays an important role in providing the basis for the further education of the child .

He reminded teachers’ that their behavior does not only affect the safety of pupils but also contributes to the quality of education of the children.
