Govt to beef up security in oil and gas find area

Half Assini (W/R), Sept. 10, GNA – The government has decided to establish three Marine Police Stations in the Jomoro District of the Western Region to beef up security for the oil industry.

The stations will be established at New Town, Jewi Wharf and Ellenda wharf.

The District Chief Executive for Jomoro, Mr Victor Nyanyi Kablan, said this at the Jomoro District Assembly Meeting at Half Assini.

He said the Western Regional Police Commander has visited the three communities for sites selection and has presented his plans to the Assembly.

Mr Kablan appealed to the Assembly Members to educate their electorates on the situation and the need to contribute towards the success of the oil and gas industry.
