Govt To Appeal against “Quality Grain” Judgement

There are indications that the Attorney General’s Department will file an appeal against the judgment delivered by Mr. Justice Dixen Kwame Afreh in the $22 million Quality Grain Case.

According to the DAILY GUIDE, the AG’s office feels that the 4-2-2 custodial sentences imposed on the culprits were not deterrent enough and would encourage other public officials to fall foul of the charge of “Causing Financial Loss To The State,” as enshrined in the country’s Criminal Code.
