Govt takes over the construction of A.M.E. Zion JSS

Cape Coast June 26, GNA- Reverend Wilberforce Wireko, Presiding Elder of the A.M.Z Zion Church at Cape Coast, said the Government has taken over the construction of the block for the A.M.Z Zion Junior Secondary School in the town.

Work on the storey building comprising classrooms, offices and stores that started by the Church a year ago, came to a standstill due to the lack of funds.

Rev. Wireko announced this at the closing session of a four-day district conference of the Church on Sunday at Cape Coast.

He commended the Government for coming to the aid of the Church and appealed to parents to take advantage of the Government’s Capitation Grant and School Feeding Programme to send their children to school. Rev. Wireko appealed to the congregation to join the crusade against child labour and appealed to parents to instil discipline into their children.

He urged Christians to collaborate with government towards the development of the country. 26 June 07
