Gov’t supports Lante Djanwe Homowo festival

Nii Djangba Vanderpuye, Deputy Greater Accra Regional Minister, has donated food items on behalf of the government to support this year’s Lante Djanwe Homowo festival.

The items included four bags of maize, two gallons of red oil, one carton of Aromatic Schnapps, four cartons of malt, four creates of beer and Guinness each and an undisclosed amount of money.

Nii Djangba Vanderpuye called on the chiefs of Gamashie to take part in the National Sanitation Day to enable the people to be alive to their civic responsibilities to ensure that Accra becomes cleaner than before.

He expressed disappointment about the apathy always shown by community members when it comes to communal labour.

He called on the chiefs to ensure the peaceful observance of the annual Homowo festival.

Nii Lantei Awuah I, Regent of Lante Djanwe who received the items expressed gratitude to the government and the Accra Metropolitan Assembly for the kind gesture.
