Gov’t presents medical supplies to three Hospitals

Government has presented medical supplies to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, the 37 Military Hospital and the Ghana Police Hospital to support the treatment of persons with injuries from the June 3 flood and fire disaster.

Government has also released some funds to the hospitals for the medical bills of treated persons.

Deputy Chief of Staff, Jonny Osei Kofi, who handed over the 2.5 tonnes of medical supplies, thanked the hospitals for the services they rendered to the victims of the disaster.

He urged the hospitals to inform government through the Ministry of Health should they require any other forms of assistance.

Col. M. A. Yeboah Agyapong of the 37 Military Hospital thanked government for the donations and expressed gratitude to the President, John Dramani Mahama for his personal commitment to supporting the victims of the disaster and the medical facilities.

He commended the President for acting swiftly to take the burden off survivors and their relatives and also the medical facilities.

The Medical Director of the Police Hospital, DCOP S. M. Zakariah also thanked government for the support.

Present at the ceremony were the Deputy Minister for Health, Dr. Victor Bampoe, and DCOP Ampah Benin, Director General Public Affairs of the Ghana Police Service.
