Government has rejected reports that its activities have been disrupted by the ongoing hearing of the election petition case at the Supreme Court.
According to the government, it is focused on delivering on its developmental agenda and won’t be distracted by the court case.
Deputy Minister of Information and Media Relation, Murtala Mohammed, said the government led by the President John Mahama can’t ignore its mandate to govern the country.
“We have a mandate given to us by the people of this country and his Excellency the President is the legitimate President and Commander in Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces determined by law.
“People have the right to go to court, but the fact that people are in court doesn’t mean that the mandate given to it by the people should not be implemented.
“Government is not nervous; we are very convinced that we won the elections genuinely…government is focused and the government is working,” Murtala Mohammed stated.
