Gov’t losing trust of Ghanaians – Political Analyst

A political analyst says Government is gradually losing the trust of Ghanaians with its current communication lapses.

The president on Thursday April 24, 2014, ordered the acting Executive Director of the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Agency, Kobby Acheampong, to immediately cancel the Agency’s invitation for proposals from the public toward implementing an ICT module.

Adverts in the state-owned Daily Graphic have been running, requesting for proposals for months now.

However, in a statement signed by Minister of Information and Media Relations, Mahama Ayariga, the President said the GYEEDA invitation for proposals must be withdrawn because it is without authorization.

But political analyst, Dr. Kobby Mensah, told XYZ NEWS that the government failed to handle the issue properly.

He fears Ghanaians won’t take the Presidency seriously if there is no harmonization in how it runs the affairs of the country.

“If you have a communication system that is very erratic, very dispensed and that is not comprehensive, it makes the government look ill-prepared. It doesn’t invest confidence in the people that the government has the grip on what it is doing. In the end, it affects the image of the government,” Dr. Kobby added.
